Nutrition-Sensitive and Gender-Responsive Food Systems

This sub-theme is aimed at catalyzing discussions around “nutrition-sensitive” and “Gender-responsive” and how these may relate to the “Food systems”. Under this sub-theme, we welcome discussions that will be focused on identifying opportunities and constraints for nutrition and gender integration toward achieving a resilient food system. We also welcome discussions on existing strategies and best practices that interface nutrition and gender integration with regards to the food system. Ultimately, it is intended that reflections on best practices, lessons learned from key stakeholders, opportunities, and challenges in the implementation of a nutrition-sensitive and gender-responsive food system would inform policy decisions. The sub theme seeks to trigger discussions that will explore the different ways that the transition towards an inclusive and sustainable food system may impact nutrition and gender responsiveness and vice versa. Most important is how policy strategies and private sector partnerships will enhance and support a nutrition-sensitive and gender-responsive food system.
