Prof. Dr Mohamed Soliman Mohamed is the President of Agricultural Research Centre (ARC) in Egypt. Prior to his current position Prof. Soliman served as Vice President for Research and Director, Field Crops Research Institute in ARC. Professor Mohamed Soliman has years of experience in his field and was at one time the Head of the Egyptian Delegation for establishment of Joint Farms in several African Countries (Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mali, Congo DRC, Tanzania, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Burkina Faso, Sudan and Niger). He has been on several Boards and held the position of Chairperson in multiple occasions, notably that of the Egyptian Permanent Committee for Olive. Prof. is a member of the National Committee for Food Security in the Arab World and on the Advisory Council for Preparation and Formulation of Proposed Policies for Achieving Food Security. He has published 37 scientific research locally and internationally and has received many scientific awards and Certificates of Appreciation from prestigious institutions such as FAO, ICARDA, Academy of Scientific Research & Technology (Egypt) etc. Prof Mohamed Soliman obtained his PhD degree in Plant Breeding from Cairo University in conjunction with University of Missouri, Columbia, Mo.
