Synopsis
This side event brings together foresight practitioners, developers and users of foresight results, food systems experts drawn from academia, research, extension, and health sectors, to track the future of food and agriculture in Africa. It shall comprise of a presentation of an FAO publication titled “The Future of Food and Agriculture”, which is a comprehensive and insightful book that explores the various drivers and triggers that are transforming the global food and agriculture system. A discussion by experts and questions and answers from the audience will follow the presentation. In the second session of the event, participants will identify entry points and partners to align and support the community of practice and practitioners led by their respective SRO and Constituencies. This is expected to trigger the establishment of sub-regional foresight hubs and studies.
